Our New Apartment

It’s been 6 months since we moved in to our new apartment at Yonge & Davisville and we’ve already got it sufficiently cluttered and messy!

Every Dog Needs a Faux Bearskin Rug

It’s come to this… posting about girlie shopping on the interweb! Sorry Rich, who wanted to call the blog something climbing related. “But our trip isn’t JUST about climbing” I’d protest. And sure enough, we’ve been posting about our travels, visits with family, charlie dog, our apartment and then…. nothing. So with this lack of travel commentary due to the lack of travel, I may now be posting about whatever I want. Deal with it. [...]

New Look For intothesunset.ca!

Here she is, the look for intothesunset.ca! This design should be much easier to access past posts. Just because I know everyone is so eager to hold on to the past by reading our archives every morning!

Beer Wages and Champagne Taste

After a terrible experience with a potential apartment on Delisle, I was terribly worried we’d never find an adequate apartment. My main concern was location: It had to be near the subway, preferably the Yonge line, and close enough to a park big enough for Charlie to be off leash. We also hopped for lots of light, maybe even south-facing; a balcony; a safe neighbourhood; and parking. A large kitchen with dishwasher and renovated bathroom [...]

…Hitched this Afternoon!

I don’t think I can hear the word “hitched” without thinking of The Little Mermaid scene when Scuttle brings the news to Arial and Sebastian that the Prince is getting married. The whole town’s buzzin’ about the prince gettin’ himself hitched this afternoon! You know, he’s getting married! You silly sidewalker! Well the whole town was buzzin’ since Tom and Danielle went out and got hitched at the town offices of Guelph just over a [...]

Richard’s Haircut

My mom has been cutting my dad’s hair for as long as I can remember. I’m sure it didn’t start out perfectly, but over the years she’s mastered it. My brother also opts for the cheaper route when it comes to hair cutting. He’s had friends shave his head during beer-fueled brilliance, girlfriends do their best to snip suave styles, and I bet my mother’s even had her hands on his locks. So when Richard [...]

Our USA Trip

Back from our Europe trip in time for my brother’s wedding, I now had time to flip through pictures of the USA trip. A very crude (iPhone held up to the laptop screen while I scroll through Preview) compilation video emerged that features every photo we took (ok, minus the iPhone pics). About 5 minutes long, it’s a great way to get a taste of our trip minus the 3-hr long stories! Enjoy!

Football, Climbing Gyms & Dinners

Scotland gave us a chance to wind down and visit with family; though, we did cram in a few hours of football in the backyard and some indoor rock climbing. We enjoyed our time with Kay, aunt Martha, and Michael and were very happy that we got to catch some time with Martin as well. We were also so glad to meet little Charlie. Don’t worry about walking, Charlie, just focus on that grip strength [...]
